David Zylstra is a partner at West Covina Wholesale Nursery, working alongside his siblings and eldest son, Ryan, in the La Verne office. After earning a business degree from the University of Redlands, David began his full-time role at the nursery in 1980.
David and his wife, Maxine, have six children and 17 grandchildren. He enjoys supporting his family’s activities, coaching youth sports, and spending quality time with loved ones.

Diane, a proud Cal Poly alumna with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture, plays a vital role as a partner in the company. Based in Arroyo Grande, she oversees sales coordination, leads propagation efforts, and manages new plant acquisitions across operations, ensuring quality and diversity in offerings. Diane and her husband, Dan, have two daughters and three grandchildren. When she's not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and taking her two Frenchies, Henri and Hazel, for walks.

Doug grew up working in the family nursery, starting at the West Covina yard behind the Zylstra house. In 1981, he moved to Santa Barbara with his parents, working summers at the newly established yard while attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he earned a degree in Ornamental Horticulture. After graduation, Doug worked alongside his father, Dick, before taking over daily operations of the Santa Barbara yard. He lives in Santa Barbara with his wife, Patty, and is a proud father of four adult children.

Ryan has worked at West Covina Wholesale Nursery full time since January 2007. As a teenager and during college he worked during school vacations at various company yards to get a feel for the business. He is part of the third generation of family to work at the nursery and looks forward to seeing its continued growth and success. Outside of work he enjoys watching his four children participate in their various extracurricular activities.

Mark has been at West Covina Wholesale since July of 2003. He has been in the industry since 1983 and is experienced in most facets of the Industry. He is the General Manager and assists in the operation of our La Verne location. He helps in all areas of the business. Including sales, purchasing, pesticide safety and matters of personnel.
